How do we measure social design?

Working in a company, we measure things like revenue, customer lifetime value and similars. But what could be our main metrics indicating we are in the correct path to have impact with a social problem of tremendous scope? It was a real challenge, and there was a lot of sensitive topics. Like:

• Sometimes in design you need to observe the action taken to better understand what happens and take action. But talking about violence against women: we were not going to wait/observe a woman being violented to taken action. Instead, we focused on already gathered data
• The pourpose of the project was to impact and warn people about violence against women.
